Laurie A. McBurnie, BA, CPC
Certified Life Coach, Certified Chronic Care Health Coach
SPECIALTY: Coaching for women, mid-life and older
Life Coaching is geared towards people who are motivated to seek personal growth, as well as those who are facing challenging life transitions, such as career change, loss, separation, aging, elder care, and health issues. Coaching is designed to be focused on the present and future, goal oriented, and client centered. The coach may be the navigator, but the client ultimately steers the ship.
As a coach, my role is to help clients focus on where they are, where they would like to be, how to get there, and what is standing in their way. By developing self-awareness, questioning limiting beliefs, defining values, and recognizing inner strengths, a client can then move forward by working through obstacles and planning next steps. The use of open ended questions and specific coaching tools encourages envisioning, weighing of options, reframing, and shifting toward positive energy. The client is given the opportunity to consciously choose his or her actions and be accountable for them. This creates a sense of empowerment and confidence; a change from within with sustainable results.
As a coach, I offer total presence, powerful questions, intuitive listening, empathy, and genuine curiosity, in an atmosphere of trust and non-judgement.
